GA-Antebellum Christmas at the Old Governor’s Mansion - December 3 through 24, Tuesdays through Saturdays 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, Sundays 2:00 to 4:00 pm, Old Governor's Mansion, 120 South Clarke Street, Milledgeville GA. Come celebrate a true Antebellum Christmas at the Old Governor’s Mansion in the Civil War era capital of Georgia! Witness the Mansion transform into a scene from the mid-1800's featuring true Antebellum decor. The Mansion will also be hosting several candlelight tours throughout the month. GA-Winter Muster Reenactment at Fort McAllister - Saturday, December 14, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, Fort McAllister State Historic Park, 3894 Fort McAllister Road, Richmond Hill GA. On December 13, 1864, General Sherman completed his army's his March to the Sea by watching some of his troops capture Fort McAllister. Come watch as we reenact this historically significant moment in our country's history. Programs and demonstrations all day, battle at 5:00 pm. GA-Kennesaw Mountain Trails Workday - Saturday, December 14, 11:30 am to 4:00 pm, Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park GA. Kennesaw Mountain Trail Club is a volunteer organization designed to assist with trail maintenance at Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park. Trained crew leaders lead teams of volunteers on trail work projects throughout the park. Trail building experience is not necessary. Meet at the new parking lot on Old Highway 41. GA-Behind the Scenes Tours - Sunday, December 15 & Tuesday, December 24, 10:00 am to 12:00 noon, Hay House, 934 Georgia Avenue, Macon GA. Tour all seven levels of this 1850’s National Historic Landmark, including the newly restored cupola with its spectacular 360-degree view of Macon. Admission: $25.00 (ages 8+ only); reservations required. Directions from I-75: Take I-16 east to Exit #1A, turn south on Spring Street and cross the Ocmulgee River.
