GA-Savannah Civil War Experience - Friday, November 1, 6:00 to 10:00 pm, River Street Riverboat Company, 9 East River Street, Savannah GA.  Old Fort Jackson and the River Street Riverboat Company have partnered to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Savannah during the Civil War.  As the boat follows the path of the original soldiers toward Old Fort Jackson, guests will experience live period music while they dine on a delicious and authentic southern dinner buffet.  Upon their arrival to Old Fort Jackson, guests will be welcomed by the fort’s honor guard and escorted inside to tour the historic fort.  Tickets: Adults $84.95, Children 12 and under $39.95, Age 3 and under FREE.  Advance reservations required.  800-786-6404, www.savannahriverboat.com.

Savannah GA
SC-150th Anniversary Battle for Battery Wagner - Friday through Sunday, November 8 through 10, Boone Hall Plantation, 1235 Long Point Road, Mount Pleasant SC.  Reenactment of the battle portrayed in the movie "Glory."  School day on Friday.  Saturday and Sunday "battles" for reconstructed Battery Wagner.  Civilian, cavalry, infantry and artillery portrayals.  Saturday night ball and Sunday period church service.  Admission charged.  Directions from downtown Charleston: Take U.S. Hwy. 17 North towards Mount Pleasant.  Go approximately 7 miles and turn left onto Long Point Road.  You will see signs for Boone Hall Plantation and Charles Pinckney NHS.  Follow Long Point Road and the entrance to the site will be on the right.  843-884-4371, www.siegeofcharleston.org.

AL-Battles for the Armory - Friday through Sunday, November 8 through 10, Historic Gibson's View Plantation, Rifle Range Road, Tallassee AL.  Annual battles reenactment.  Friday is school day; Saturday & Sunday for the general public.  Tallassee is home of the only Confederate Armory not destroyed during the War Between the States and where the Tallassee Carbine Rifle was manufactured.  The Armory still stands as a National Historic Site.  Admission charged.  Proceeds go toward renovation of the Armory.  Directions: I-85 to Exit #26, north on AL Hwy. 229 about five miles to County Road 4 (Rifle Range Road).  Turn left and proceed one mile to the site.  334-283-4693, www.tallasseearmoryguards.org/reenactment/index.html.

GA-Kennesaw Mountain Trails Workday - Saturday, November 9, 8:30 am to 1:00 pm, Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park GA.  Kennesaw Mountain Trail Club is a volunteer organization designed to assist with trail maintenance at Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park.  Trained crew leaders lead teams of volunteers on trail work projects throughout the park.  Trail building experience is not necessary.  Meet at the new parking lot on Old Highway 41.  The Park provides all necessary tools and safety equipment. 770-427-4686, www.kennesawmountaintrailclub.org (check beforehand concerning possible cancellation due to bad weather).

GA-Andersonville Night Museum - Saturday, November 16, 6:00 to 9:00 pm, Andersonville National Historic Site, GA Hwy. 49, Andersonville GA.  Experience the National Prisoner of War Museum and the historic prison site after dark.  The museum and bookstore will be open.  At 7:00 p.m. a special program will occur in the museum theater.  From the courtyard at the rear of the museum, the path to the prison site will be illuminated by candle lanterns, allowing access to the reconstructed northeast corner of the prison site.  Among the replica shelters will be living history volunteers, portraying the often-overlooked winter period of the prison in 1864-65.  FREE admission.  229-924-0343, www.nps.gov/ande/index.htm

GA-Behind the Scenes Tours - Sunday, November 17 & Friday, November 29, 10:00 am to 12:00 noon, Hay House, 934 Georgia Avenue, Macon GA.  Tour all seven levels of this 1850’s National Historic Landmark, including the newly restored cupola with its spectacular 360-degree view of Macon.  Admission: $25.00 (ages 8+ only); reservations required.  Directions from I-75: Take I-16 east to Exit #1A, turn south on Spring Street and cross the Ocmulgee River.  Hay House is directly ahead at the top of the hill.  478-742-8155, www.georgiatrust.org/historic_sites/hayhouse.
