SC-27th Annual Battle of Aiken Reenactment - Friday through Sunday, February 19 through 21, 1210 Powell Pond Road, Aiken SC. See history come alive with cannon, cavalry and living history experts. For three days, reenactors eat, sleep, live and fight in a painfully recreated version of the world in 1865. This War Between the States event has grown from a few hundred men with muskets to a full-blown Civil War festival. In addition to battle reenactments, there are authentic 19th-century military encampments, living history presentations, reproductions of medical facilities, an engineer and signal service, musicians, and civilian portrayals. Food is available for purchase. Friday: free admission for school groups with reservations although a donation of canned goods is encouraged. Saturday & Sunday: open to the general public 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Directions: I-20 to Exit #18, SC Hwy. 19. Turn south toward Aiken. Turn left onto Powell Pond Road and follow signs. Admission: Adults $15.00, Teens (age 13 to 18) $10.00, Children (ages 6 to 12) $5.00, under age 6 are free. 888-378-7623, www.battleofaiken.org/
