GA-New Manchester Mill First Day History Hikes - Friday, January 1, 1:00 to 3:00 pm, and 3:30 to 5:00 pm, Sweetwater Creek State Park, 1750 Mount Vernon Road, Lithia Springs GA. This one mile easy-to-moderate hike will lead us to the five-story ruins of the Civil War era New Manchester textile mill. This hike will include going inside the ruins and seeing the lovely rapids providing great photo opportunities. SC-Free Admission Days at Fort Moultrie - Monday, January 18, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Fort Moultrie Visitor Center, 1214 Middle Street, Sullivan’s Island SC.  The National Park Service offers FREE admission to ALL parks, monuments and historic sites (whether or not connected to the Civil War) that normally charge an admission fee on the following dates during 2021:

---January 18 - Martin Luther King Jr. Day

---April 17 - First Day of National Park Week

---August 4 - Anniversary of the Great American Outdoors Act

---August 25 - National Park Service Birthday

---September 25 - National Public Lands Day

---November 11 - Veterans Day

These FREE admission days include the grounds of Fort Moultrie National Monument near Charleston. Due to Covid-19 restrictions as of December 14, 2020 both the fort and visitor center at Fort Moultrie are still closed, Admission to Fort Sumter National Monument, which is open, is always free.
